Anaphylaxis Campaign


Thousands of people in the UK have life-threatening allergies. The condition is known as anaphylaxis. The Anaphylaxis Campaign was set up to help them. This site explains what anaphylaxis is and the precautions that can be taken to avoid or minimise risk. The campaign's newsletter is published on this site and contains the latest news and developments on the subject.

Codex Alimentarius Commission


The Codex Alimentarius Commission was created in 1963 by FAO and WHO to develop food standards, guidelines and related texts such as codes of practice under the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme. The main purposes of this Programme are protecting health of the consumers and ensuring fair trade practices in the food trade, and promoting coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The European Biodiesel Board also known as EBB, is a non-profit organisation established in January 1997. EBB aims to promote the use of biodiesel in the European Union, at the same time, grouping the major EU biodiesel producers.

Federation of Oils Seeds and Fats Association (FOSFA)


The Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA) was founded in 1971 on the amalgamation of four predecessor associations, the oldest of which dates back to 1863. The European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC) was founded in 1959 by five national compound feed associations from France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

Grain and Feed Trade Association


The Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), comprising international grain and feed traders has been in existence for 128 years and currently has members in over 80 countries. National Edible Oil Distributors' Association


The National Edible Oil Distributors' Association (NEODA) was established in 1947 to represent the interests of edible oil and fat refiners, packers and distributors and to promote the highest standards of food safety, quality and service for the benefit of its members, their customers, and the general consumer. NEODA members account for over 80%of the UK distributor market.


National Farmers Union


The National Farmers' Union represents the farmers and growers of England and Wales . Its central objective is to promote successful and socially responsible agriculture and horticulture, while ensuring the long term viability of rural communities.


Red Tractor Assurance


Red Tractor Assurance sets out to maintain, develop and promote integrated Assurance standards for the benefit of its assured members within the whole food industry. It sets standards for farms as well as other critical links in the food supply chain both pre- and post-farm.


Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS)

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)


RSPO is a not-for-profit association that unites stakeholders from seven sectors of the palm oil industry - oil palm producers, palm oil processors or traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation NGOs and social or developmental NGOs - to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.


SCOPA warns on PAH's
The UK Seed Crushers and Oil Processors Association (SCOPA) is demanding greater vigilence from farmers to avoid high PAHs (Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in the UK rapeseed crop.  This year there have been several loads delivered to crush plants with extremely high PAH levels.  This is costing UK crushers hundreds of thousands of pounds to deal with.
